COVID-19 | UPDATE

To help keep you and others safe during this time we have provided a brief Covid19 update for each state in Australia.

Each has individual guidelines for outdoor and recreational activities and if heading to your nearby dog friendly eatery, cafe, bar or pub, so be sure to check them out before you go to tickle your tastebuds!

Please keep everyone safe by following social distancing regulations wherever you are!

Currently gatherings of up to 20 people are allowed in public areas and at your homes in New South Wales. You are free to take your dog to public places and to exercise with friends as long as the public gatherings regulations are adhered to.

There is currently no limit on how many people can be inside cafes, eateries bars and pubs as long as there are four square metres of space allowed per person. All diners must provide their name and contact details, including a phone number or email address, to allow for contact tracing.

Queensland has just closed its borders for anyone travelling from Greater Sydney due to new cases confirmed. Anyone travelling from Sydney will have to quarantine for 14 days. Schools have been closed in Brisbane and visits to aged care facilities are now restricted.

Currently up to 100 people can gather in public spaces in Queensland.

Eateries, cafes, pubs and bars (with a Covid-Safe Checklist) can seat any number of patrons as long as the four square metres per person limit is observed. Venues with a floor space less than 200 square metres can have a maximum of 50 people, not exceeding a limit of one person for every two square metres.

Currently Melbourne is in full lock down. Only you and you family members may exercise or walk your dog in public areas. At this stage you can take a stroll with your dog and one none-family member only. Outside of the Greater Melbourne and Mitchell Shire regions, up to 10 people can gather outside for exercise and recreational purposes.

Restaurants and cafes in Greater Melbourne and Mitchell Shire can open for take away and delivery only so make sure you support your dog friendly eateries at this time.

The rest of Victoria – Cafes, restaurants and other hospitality businesses like RSLs and bowling clubs are able to seat up to 20 patrons in an enclosed space. There can only be one customer per four square metres and tables must be spaced at least 1.5 metres apart. Venues are also required to keep the first name and phone number of every customer to help with contact tracing, if necessary. Alcohol will only be available to purchase with meals. From 12 July , the number of diners allowed increased to 50. Food courts may still offer only delivery and takeaway.

There is currently no limit on the number of people allowed to gather outside in South Australia, as long as there is no more than one person per two square metres.

As of 29 June, restaurants, cafes, pubs, food courts, nightclubs and casinos can open, as well as standing hospitality venues. There is no limit on the number of people allowed, as long as there is no more than one person per two square metres. Drinking at a bar, or while standing, is allowed. Communal food, like buffets and salad bars, are not permitted.

There is no limit on the number of people allowed at public gatherings in Western Australia.

Cafes and restaurants (including in pubs, bars, hotels, casinos, clubs) can open up to seated diners, with one person per every two square metres. Venues are allowed to serve food and alcohol to non-seated patrons. There is no requirement for businesses to maintain a patron register.

Currently in the Australian Capital Territory up to 100 people can gather together outdoors.

Restaurants, cafes and other hospitality venues offering seated dining can host up to 100 patrons in each indoor or outdoor space, as long as there is one person per four square metres. This limit excludes staff. Bars, pubs, and clubs can serve alcohol in groups of up to 10 seated patrons, without a meal. From 10 July, food courts will be allowed to open to seated patrons.

Up to 500 people are allowed in an undivided outdoor space.

For hospitality venue’s, up to 250 are allowed in an undivided space, as long as there is no more than one person per two square metres. Up to 500 people are allowed in an undivided outdoor space, density requirements also permitting.

There are no limits on gathering in the Northern Territory, but you should maintain physical distancing.

All businesses are allowed to reopen as long as they have a Covid-19 plan. The two-hour limit has been lifted, meaning night clubs can reopen. You will be able to purchase alcohol from a bar.
