Moringa – Nature’s Anti-inflammatory Miracle for Dogs

Article by: Donna Lorenz | Chief Dog Lover
Known as The Miracle Tree, Moringa, or Moringa Olefeira, is nature’s anti-inflammatory miracle for dogs and has been recognised by America’s most conservative health and cancer institutions as being effective in reducing tumour size and proliferation.
I credit Moringa as being a key contributor to Ruby’s remission.
That’s why it’s in our Miracle Greens and Kanga Kisses.
America’s very conservative National Institute of Health, and the even more conservative cancer establishment Memorial Sloan-Kettering Institute, have acknowledged Moringa as being ‘effective in reducing tumour size and proliferation’. It has also been endorsed by the World Health Organisation for its nutritional density and ability to grow in harsh areas – they call it the ‘Miracle Tree’. It is valued worldwide for its ability to treat over 300 illnesses and is one of the most nutrient dense plants on the planet:
- 25 times more iron than spinach—promoting healthy blood
- 17 times more calcium than milk—strengthening bones
- 15 times more potassium than bananas—helping circulation and the heart’s steady rhythm
- 10 times more vitamin A than carrots—helping vision, and skin and mucous membranes to repel bacteria
- 9 times more protein than yogurt—helping build and maintain muscle mass
“It is valued worldwide for its ability to treat
over 300 illnesses and is one of the most nutrient
dense plants on the planet.”
Moringa Oleifera also provides 36 natural anti-inflammatory agents, 46 antioxidants and all essential amino acids that help protect cells from free-radical damage, including:
- Beta-sitosterol—blocks cholesterol formation and/or build-up
- Caffeoylquinic acid—a powerful anti-inflammatory compound that also may assist in lowering blood pressure
- Kaempferol—promotes healthy cellular function
- Quercetin– a flavonoid known for its ability to neutralize free radicals and relieve inflammation
- Zeatin—a plant hormone with powerful skin anti-aging properties
Reducing inflammation is a key strategy in addressing cancer. Studies have shown Moringa leaves to have ‘strong anti-proliferation properties and potent induction of apoptosis’ on human cancer cells, which means it can help stop the growth of cancer cells and in some cases causes cell death.
While heralded the world over as a super nutritious food, in Australia moringa is currently classed as a ‘novel food’. Foods not considered ‘traditional’ in Australia and New Zealand are classed as ‘novel foods’ and require special permits for use for humans. It is therefore important to make your own determination as to whether this is right for your dog. I think it’s right for all of us!
I credit Moringa as one of the key nutritional elements that helped neutralise Ruby’s cancer for almost 3 years (along with turmeric, medicinal mushrooms and hemp). Since then I’ve seen it work with hundreds of dogs for not only immunity and cancer related issues, but also to help soothe pain and inflammation from injuries and arthritis, as well as gut issues and more.
Moringa is the main component in our Miracle Greens blend (along with barley grass, hemp and Tasmanian kelp) and is also in our Kanga Kisses treats.
Give them some everyday!
